In the quiet suburbs of Stockholm, where the charming Swedish nature and lakes reflect the purity of the sky, Wilson Lambert was considered a model of the man that everyone aspires to be like. He was a successful supervisor at a construction company, a devoted husband to Joanna, and a loving father to his young daughter, Jenny. He spent weekends with his family among the valleys and farms, in a small, safe rural town...or so everyone thought. The peace begins to fade when the Stuarts' home is subject to a mysterious break-in and robbery. The news spread like wildfire, and other incidents in a similar manner quickly followed, putting Al-Sharif and his team on constant alert. She is afraid of everyone, so Albert (Joanna's father) decides to move in with them to protect his granddaughter, Jenny, and comfort her daughter while Wilson is busy at work. One night, a new robbery attempt occurred, but the owner of the house was able to see the thief before he fled; He was a tall man wearing a black knit hat. At the scene, the sheriff found a wristband that had fallen from the thief in the grass. Wilson began to become suspicious when Joanna's friend saw a photo of the bracelet in the newsletter and remembered seeing Wilson wearing one like him. Joanna's confusion increased when she saw a wound on her husband's arm, but he justified it as a work injury. When Joanna faced him with the bracelet in his hand, he said coldly to her: “Your bracelet is in the closet.” Indeed, I found him there, which made the sheriff acquit Wilson before the law, but the neighbors’ gazes continued to follow him with accusation. Months passed and the fear subsided, until that final night came. Joanna and her friend were upstairs when they heard a commotion downstairs. They gathered their courage and went down to find the thief in the black hat trying to escape through the window. Joanna threw a "lamp" that hit the thief before he fell to the ground. The police rushed and unmasked the thief's face, shocking the entire city: It was Albert, the venerable grandfather and Joanna's father! Albert admitted everything in court, and that he had bought a bracelet similar to his brother-in-law Wilson's bracelet to throw at the crime scene and mislead justice. His lawyer revealed the shocking truth; Albert was not a criminal, but rather suffered from a compulsive psychological disorder known as kleptomania, an uncontrollable tendency to steal things he did not need. Albert was sentenced to a year in prison, and the story ended with a town that was no longer the same, and a wife who realized that danger could come from the people we trusted most.
